And The Oscar Goes to ...

Academy Award, or better known as the Oscars will be held on March 7, 2010. This is an implementation of the 82, and an annual activity for human beings in the world of film. And also the center of the film world. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Scieces the initiators of this event.

The Birth of the Academy Awards
One of the first Academy committees was Awards of Merit. The seven-person committee suggested to the Board in 1928 that awards be presented in 12 categories. The first Academy Awards were officially presented at a black-tie dinner at the Roosevelt on May 16, 1929, honoring achievements between August 1, 1927 and July 31, 1928.

The Oscar Statuette
Although it measures just 13½ inches high, the Oscar statuette stands tall as the motion picture industry’s greatest honor. Officially named the Academy Award® of Merit, the Oscar is given in recognition of the highest level of achievement in moviemaking.
